King's Cross Saint Pancras - photo #1

King's cross is a newly renovated area surrounding the King's cross and Saint Pancras train stations and is named after a monument of King George IV built in 1830ies in Gray's Inn road, where the station now stands. The area used to be quite dodgy and run down but has gone through a good deal of development over the past year. The station and Renaissance hotel are a good illustration and you will also see many newly builts in the area.

The Saint Pancras station is renowned for being the terminal station for the Eurostar international high speed rail service connecting London to Paris and Brussels. The Eurostar takes only 1h51 minutes to reach Brussels and 2h15 minutes to central Paris. The Saint Pancras station has been fully refurbished when the Eurostar moved from Waterloo station to Saint Pancras and the result is absolutely outstanding. King's Cross station also attracts tourists who come to see the platform 9 3/4 from the Harry Potter book.

Rent around the King's cross & Saint Pancras area is still fairly inexpensive considering that it is located at the edge of Central London and is an easy reach from everything. You will find quiet flats and houses if you head towards the canal and sometimes just off the main street. When it comes to shopping, the area is not very attractive but you will able to reach Angel, Euston, Old Street and many other popular areas through a short bus ride.
